District Cross Country Results
The Junior High Cross Country team raced Wednesday, October 9th at Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell. For the boys, Colton Vickers emerged as the top runner, taking 8th place, a medal, and leading the boys to a 2nd place team finish. The girls won the district, finishing 1st overall as a team behind the strong running of Paisley Goldberg, Saniau Ratcliff, Isis Schulte, Aniau Ratcliff, and Mya Rodriguez, who all placed in the top 10 and received medals.
The High School Cross Country team raced on Thursday, October 10th at the same location. Autumn Applewhite represented the Panthers in the combined JV race, finishing 7th overall and 2nd among the women runners, securing a medal along the way. In the girls' race, the Panthers finished 2nd, advancing to Regionals as a team behind stand-out performances from Peyton Sigsbee, Reagan Roemer, and Avery Applewhite, who all finished in the top 10 and took home medals. In the men's race, Junior Devlin Douglas again seized the top spot with an 18:02 time to claim both a medal and the district championship for the 2nd year. Unfortunately, the boys were unable to claim a top three spot and will not advance to the regional race.
The Region IV Cross Country Meet is being hosted at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Monday, October 21st at Dugan Family Soccer & Track Stadium. The girls race at 8 am followed by the boys at 830am.
