NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION
Burton ISD is registering all NEW students (Prek-6th grade) for the 25-26 school year beginning on April 7th. Registration is online and may be completed from any device with internet access. You must have an active email address to complete the registration process.
We will provide registration assistance at the elementary office as needed April 7-11, 2025 8 AM - 3 PM.
To be eligible for prekindergarten (PreK) a child must be 3 or 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2025.
To be eligible for kindergarten (K) a child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2025.
BISD offers free PreK for those who meet the following eligibility criteria:
unable to speak and comprehend the English language
qualify based on household income per TDA income eligibility guidelines
homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C Section 1143a
a child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority
a child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
ever been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing
been in foster care in another state or territory, if the child resides in this state
a child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code
Burton ISD offers tuition-based PreK for students who do not meet one of the above qualifications,
if space is available, for $400 a month.

: Once the district receives the PreK Eligibility Form, the district will notify the family if the child is eligible for free or tuition-based PreK. Once your child is approved you will register them through the parent portal.

NEW STUDENT TRANSFER APPLICATIONS WILL BE OPEN MAY 19-JUNE 12, 2025.
Transfer applications can be picked up at either the campus’s office, the central office, or at www.burtonisd.net.
For RETURNING STUDENTS online registration will open on May 19th.
Log in to your parent portal account and complete the required annual registration forms.
