BISD is growing. Our elementary school has grown by more than 20% over the last five years. The elementary building is at 94% functional capacity, with only 19 seats remaining.

Burton ISD will be providing factual voter education through all available channels to ensure that all voters have information about the 2021 bond. Look for information in emails, mail, signs, social media & the district website. Election Day is Tuesday, 11/2/21.

Burton ISD residents age 65 and older will not be impacted financially by the proposed bond if they have filed the proper Homestead Exemption with the Washington County Central Appraisal District. Their taxes are frozen and cannot go over their frozen amount.
The last bond passed by Burton ISD was 13 years ago, which funded the building of a new elementary school and gym, bus barn and the Ag Building.

BISD has created a Facility Advisory Committee to review the Master Facility Plan& provide feedback. The Committee examined both the current state of the District’s facilities as well as its future needs. In order to best use facilities and maximize their utility, BISD will call a bond to maintain & renovate its existing buildings and sites and for new construction.
